Purchasing Clerk, Sioux Falls, SD

Job Title: Purchasing Clerk
Department: Corporate
Reports To: Domestic Purchasing Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process daily parts requests (orders) from various Worthington Ag Parts locations. Processing includes the determination of whether to purchase inventory directly from a preferred supplier or transferring inventory from another Worthington Ag Parts location
  • Entering/Submitting purchase orders via phone, fax, e-mail or on-line order entry for the above mentioned parts requests
  • Processing monthly stock orders for the stores
  • Track all purchase order exceptions (i.e. product availability, excessive lead-times, shipping errors, shipping damage claims, billing errors, etc.)
  • Monitor price discrepancies between purchase order price and invoice price. Make adjustments when necessary
  • Update vendor price files and retail prices as necessary
  • Assist in New Part Set-up where needed
  • Assist in inventory allocation as needed
  • Review weekly the Return Parts list, request RGA’s if necessary
  • Review monthly the open purchase order report. Follow up with vendors where necessary
  • Other duties as assigned…

Credentials and Experience:

  • GED or high school diploma – prefer previous related experience
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and general data entry skills
  • Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative management practices a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory procurement from a retail and/or wholesale side of business
